This past weekend, 09/09/2011 to 11/09/2011, I decided to go to Klipvoor dam in Borakolalo Game Park. Oh my soul, what a disappointment for me and the family. I have always said that the expence was worth the pleasure of good fishing results and abundance of game. Not this time. We did not hear any game nor the Hippo's, we did not even see the once abundant Fish Eagle. As for the fishing and the water, only the Water fowl and Egyptian geese were active. The entire dam is contaminated with green algae to the point where at the water edge it has formed a blue crust of decaying organic matter and fish The stench was very strong when the breeze did not carry it away. We and all of the other fishing parties did not managed a single hint of fish activity. In my opinion, this Dam and Game park has now deteriorated to the point were, I shall never return to, and will expect in future it to become " a Once Was" place of interest.

Kruger Park - Tsendze
Kruger Park - Tsendze (Website)

Tsendze, the Tsonga word for 'tsendzeleka' or 'to ramble around like someone lost in the bush' is the newest accommodation addition to the Kruger National Park. As its name implies, it provides a rustic experience within the natural environment. Located approximately 7 km south of Mopani Rest Camp, the campsites are laid out in a rough figure of eight under and around stands of ancient and beautiful Leadwood, Mopane and Apple Leaf trees. Two prominent seasonal water courses, the Tsendze River and Nshawu Creek, run through this area that is known for the large buffalo herds and many elephant bulls that occur here. Guests can look out for 'Alexander', a current big tusker with rather impressive ivory, who is often encountered in the area and along the main tarred route between Tsendze and Mopani Rest Camp. With its abundance of large trees in the camp, Tsendze offers great birding opportunities right around your very campsite.
