Set against a backdrop of Mountains and Forests, Holy Lakes and Sacred ruins, Shiluvari Lodge will take you back to a place where your watch is thrown overboard and gently restore your natural rhythm… Set on a natural peninsula, and overlooking the Albasini Dam & Luonde Mountains, Shiluvari's cool, thatched chalets are the ideal base from which to explore this 'land of legend'. Choose between standard rooms set on the water inlet, or the thatched chalets, each with its own secluded and private intimacy set apart from the each other.

All rooms have mosquito netting, overhead fans, tea & coffee facilities, clock-radios, hairdryers and full guest amenities. Thatched chalets have their own private veranda's, attached mini kitchenette and lounge area and outdoor braai (barbecue area). The dragonfly suite (often chosen as the honeymoon suite!), has a sunken clay bath, outdoor shower and own patio overlooking the Dam. We also have two inter-leading suites, ideal for families as well as the Mukhondeni family suite, wonderfully decorated with local Venda & Shangaan cloth and artifacts. This suite has two bedrooms, as well as an upper loft area. Front and back veranda's complete the private experience, and the outdoor shower leads on from the main bathroom.

On-site facilities include the award winning Wood-Owl country restaurant, the wrap-around al-fresco terrace, the Artist's Shed art outlet, Hog & Hound pub and fireplace and Lakeside swimming pool. For the long summer evenings, the motorised raft, the Savannah will transport you along the Levubu River, whilst keeping a lazy eye out for the resident Hippo and crocodile… Shiluvari is set in the midst of the Heartland of Venda & Shangaan culture, and is proud to be associated with the famous Ribolla arts route, which showcases the myriad of local talent including the world renown Noria Mabasa, Jackson Hlungwane and others.

Kruger Park - Lower Sabie
Kruger Park - Lower Sabie (Website)

Lower Sabie graces the banks of the Sabie River, one of the few perennial rivers to flow through the Kruger National Park. Visitors cannot but feel soothed by the view towards the river and the Lebombo Mountains beyond. In this rest camp, the bounty and plenitude of nature are very evident, eloquently symbolised by the most conspicuous of its numerous trees, the mighty sycamore fig, which provides generously for the livelihood of many birds and insects. Not only do these giants produce fruit at least twice a year, but different trees produce fruit at different times, extending the gifts of life over many months. Watching the endless procession of animals coming to drink at the Sabie River establishes a sense of one's own place in the eternal cycle.
