Description
Thornhill Safari Lodge offers an affordable getaway with comfortable rooms and excellent facilities in 13 authentic thatch-roof chalets. Vibrant fabrics and local hardwood furniture all create that rustic yet stylish bush atmosphere. All bedrooms have en suite facilities, overhead fans, mosquito nets and wooden decks that overlook the lodge, pool area and surrounding bushveld. The Lodge is located within the Greater Kruger Park ecosystem, a mere 40km from Kruger Park's Orpen gate. This area is a premier eco- tourist destination, with ever present views of the Drakensburg Escarpment.

Thornhill cater for group bookings, individual guests on self drives, fly in safaris and honeymoon couples. Transfers can be arranged from any main hotel in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Nelspruit. All accommodation is on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis with light lunches included. Two game activities are included per bed night. Feel extravagant and be self-indulged in Thornhill's cosy accommodation. It comprises of twin, double and family units. Special sleeping arrangements can be organised for our younger guests.

Thornhill Safari Lodge also offers guided walking trails throughout the conservancy. Big five game drives are conducted daily. The lodge also offers optional tours to places of interest. These include, a day drive into Kruger Park, a tour of the Panorama Route including the Blyde River Canyon, a visit to Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, the cheetah breeding project or a guided tour of the Shangaan tribal village. Local places of interest include: Kruger National Park Hoedspruit Cheetah breeeding project Nyani Tribal Village Sites along the Drakensburg Escarpment incl. Blyde River Canyon, Gods Window, Bourkes Luck potholes etc. Thornhill Safari Lodge blends in with its natural surroundings and ensures a true African bush experience. Whether it is the lodge management, game rangers or kitchen staff, our team are passionate about what they do and will attend to your every need. We cater for all dietary requirements and specialise in traditional bushveld cuisine.

On the banks of the Pioneer Dam in the Kruger National Park, lies it's best kept secret. Named after the mopane veld that surrounds the camp, Mopani Rest Camp nestles amongst the Mopani tree covered koppies. A signature feature is the huge gnarled old baobab tree in the heart of the camp. The vegetation inside the camp is left as found in the wild, adding to the unique atmosphere of the camp.
