Description
The Wijnhuis is located on Church Street, one of the most historical and most photographed streets in Stellenbosch. The building dates back to the late 1600's and is one of many characterful and beautifully restored properties in the bustling historic centre. Church street currently hosts several new and exciting attractions including the Stellenbosch Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery, the Dylan Lewis Gallery and the new Coopmanshuijs Boutique Hotel.

There are a number of choices for visitors to the Wijnhuis. One can choose to be seated for a light lunch under the oak trees at the Wijnhuis Street Café; The upstairs restaurant caters to large groups and is frequented by tourists, local business people, families with children and students from the nearby Stellenbosch University.The comfortable wine lounge houses exhibits of 60 prominent Stellenbosch wineries. More than 400 wines and 20 wines by the glass are on offer. The wine Shop stocks many rare vintages and has a comprehensive freighting service.

The Wijnhuis has an all day menu inspired by its sister restaurant, La Perla, in Sea Point, as well as breakfast and snack offerings. We are famed for our pastas, Kalahari lamb and venison dishes. Our seasonal salads and vegetables are grown on our farm in Bainskloof, Wellington.For those closer to Cape Town, the Wijnhuis offers the same extensive wine selection at its Newlands branch in Kildare Road near to the Newlands rugby stadium.
