Description
The Emergence of the Cattle Barons

During the American Civil War (while the farmers were away fighting), a new breed of entrepreneur was born, the Cattle Barons. These immensely rich and powerful men, along with their cowboys moved millions of unattended Texan cattle vast distances (under adverse conditions) across the Kansas plains to Railheads for transport to market centres. This helped generate income which stabliized the war-torn Texan economy.
Cattle Baron's first franchise store opened in 1996 and established itself as a regular dining venue for residents from Constantia to Simonstown. Our legendary steaks are complemented by our excellent poultry and fish dishes, all of which helped us to garner many national excellence awards, as well as being honoured by a "best waitress of the year" national award. It is therefore not surprising that we have received rave reviews in the Argus under the heading "Great Steaks with service to match".

The restaurant is air-conditioned, fully licensed and offers a seating capacity of 170, secure parking, full a la carte menu. They also cater for year end functions, have accommodation for large parties and a private booth seating design. Reservations are essential.

On the banks of the Pioneer Dam in the Kruger National Park, lies it's best kept secret. Named after the mopane veld that surrounds the camp, Mopani Rest Camp nestles amongst the Mopani tree covered koppies. A signature feature is the huge gnarled old baobab tree in the heart of the camp. The vegetation inside the camp is left as found in the wild, adding to the unique atmosphere of the camp.
