Description
...the evolution of a bistro
When Café Sofia opened their first shop, their aim was to create a comprehensive product, able to cover a bigger part of the 24 hours, blending early morning with the trendy day bistro topped with a chic night spot and spicing it up with some Latino flavour. Sounds just about impossible... Add to it beautiful people and voila - Café Sofia! Urban, informal and sexy! It has a Mediterranean feel hip bar, with a fresh fusion of inventive spirit and energy of modern South Africa.

...the name
Sofia, the ancient Greek name for wisdom has been summed up simply as "Life". She is the wisdom in man, the divine feminine, the perfect nature....the deco
The eclectic and decadent feel of the 70's wallpaper with warm orange colours, dark wood, beautiful fabrics and the highly innovative group of designers created sheer bliss for your senses.

...the heart
The Piano and Martini bar is the heart of the restaurant. From coffee to cocktails and sangrias, Café Sofia only uses the highest quality ingredients, mixed this with their wide variety of flavours and the product is magic! Happy Hour every day from 17:00 - 19:00 brings you all cocktails for R25 and beer on tap at R15.

...the food
Meze, tapas and antipasto, served on small plates, is shared by everyone at the table. The food is a fusion mixture of the rich and healthy eating cultures sourced from South Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The most significant aspect of the food sharing ritual is the ability to bring people from all walks of life around the table to enjoy the experience of this small on size but big in flavour cuisine.

Cafe Sofia's new menu retains the Big Breakfast Sofia Special for R25 (click to see special) including coffee and introduces Breakfast Balkanika (a Bulgarian breakfast including poached eggs, smoked Paprika flavored Hollandaise sauce, sautéed young spinach, plain yogurt and crispy toast). Coca Catalana a new range of Spanish flat bread melts have been introduced. Basted with lashings of sweet tomato and garlic as well as a choice of ingredients like chorizo, roasted peppers, bacon, feta, avocado, sundried tomatoes, sweet chili, peppadews, pickled jalapenos or seafood, the Coca Catalana selection will satisfy any appetite.Additionally there are new Tapas and Sweet Tapas like Churros (classic Spanish doughnuts rolled in cinnamon and vanilla sugar) and served with warm chocolate sauce or order from the Big Plates, Salads or Day Time Light Meal options

...the soul
The soul of Café Sofia is definitely the staff. They have extraordinary people with dedication to deliver excellent products and service to customers for an unforgettable experience at Café Sofia.

Kruger Park - Orpen
Kruger Park - Orpen (Website)

Orpen Rest Camp is situated centrally on the western border of the Kruger National Park. It is a small camp that derived its name from the surname of the donor of the land, Eileen Orpen. The scattered trees and wide-open plains covered by sweet grass attract many browsers. This in turn, attracts the eye-catching cheetah, lion and leopard. Well known for its diversity of habitat and wildlife, Orpen offers visitors an excellent opportunity to experience close encounters with elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard in a natural environment. Wild dog, cheetah, zebra and giraffe are also indigenous to this area, a paradise for the wildlife enthusiast.
