Description
Opstal Estate is one of the gems in the Breede River Valley. Visitors to the farm can enjoy fine dining with some quality estate wines overlooking the majestic Slanghoek Valley.

Opstal Estate’s rich history dates back to 1847 when JC Rossouw acquired the farm De Opstal bij de Fonteine. Just over a century later in 1950, Carl Everson, the visionary grandfather of the current vintner Stanley Louw, decided to continue making his own wine instead of joining the local co-operative winery. Today, present owner and sixth generation vintner Stanley, who started farming the Estate under the guidance of his father in 1980, continues the family’s proud tradition.
As a winemaker in terms of experience, Stanley is in the golden years of his life. However, the desire to learn more about this amazing industry is his drive to still be extremely innovative and energetic to continuously produce great wines.

Kruger Park - Sable
Kruger Park - Sable (Website)

Sable Sleepover Hide, situated approximately 10 km from of Phalaborwa Gate, is a unique accommodation facility where guests can feel part of nature. A bird hide by day, it transforms into a primitive overnight dwelling by night, where a select few can experience the Kruger National Park nightlife first hand. The hide overlooks the Sable Dam where an abundance of animals gather to drink. Hear the lion roar and the hippo grunt meters away from where you are sleeping and know this is a true African experience.
