Plak is totally free of charge to everyone who uses it, and, while providing what is hopefully a valuable service, it funds itself through advertising. Plak has four different ad slots available (approximate positions and sizes shown in yellow on this page), which can accommodate either jpeg, png, gif (animated or static) or swf (Flash) images/animations. Details and pricing for each ad slot is listed below: - Ad slot 1 - A 120 x 600 pixel ad slot that has a static position on the page. i.e. It doesn't scroll up and down with the page. This ad slot is displayed on all Plak pages, with the exception of the Plak home Page. Cost: R7000.00 per month (excluding VAT). Ad slot 2 - A 120 x 600 pixel ad slot that has a static position on the page. i.e. It doesn't scroll up and down with the page. This ad slot is displayed on all Plak pages, with the exception of the Plak home Page. Cost: R7000.00 per month (excluding VAT) Ad slot 3 - A 234 x 60 pixel ad slot that is displayed on moreinfo.php, latest.php, popular.php, recent.php, and search.php pages. Cost: R500.00 per month (excluding VAT). Ad slot 4 - A 728 x 90 pixel ad slot that is only displayed on moreinfo.php pages. Cost: R1000.00 per month (excluding VAT). Each add slot (according to current statistics) receives approximately 350 000+ impressions per month, with click through rates varying from 1% to 0.3%. The click through rate is highly influenced by the quality of the displayed ad, and the interest factor in whatever is being advertised. i.e. Boring stuff just doesn't attract much attention. While anyone is free to take advantage of adversing on the Plak website, advertising of an adult nature, or advertising anything that might be deemed illegal, offensive, or "spammy" will not be accepted. If you'd like more information about advertising on Plak, please email Mike - info at plak.co.za |

Satara is a busy camp, and not without reason. It is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. The camp itself has a rustic charm, with the bulk of the accommodation set out in a series of circles. Satara is well wooded and the bird-life is prolific. At night the clink of fruit bats is fused with the chirping of cicadas and crickets. The calls of owls and nightjars add to the symphony that is punctuated intermittently by the whoop of hyena, the screech of jackal and the roars of lion. |
